Best time of the day to take finasteride? Also .....

My finasteride should hopefully arrive tomorrow, so i was wondering is there an optimum time to take finasteride?

Eg Morning/midday/afternoon/evening ?


- Also due to my budget for finasteride at the moment i need to make it last for long, so im either going to take:

0.5mg every other day (eg Mon, Wed, Fri, etc)

or

0.25mg everyday


which do you guys think is more effective at stopping further thinning/receding?

- i also wash with nizoral once a week

One of your questions are already answered. It doesn't matter when you take finasteride, but I do it in the morning. Your testosterone level is highest in the morning.

.25 every other day isn't going to help very much.

If you ordered Finpecia or propecia I would take .5 every day minimum.

If you have fincar you won't get it down to .25 no matter what, 1mg is about the smallest you'll get.

There are people here that report success with .25 EOD so it's possible. Personally 1 mg and even .50 was to much for me. Since I started taking .25. EOD I seem to be okay. Everyone is different and will react differently. The way I see it lowering DHT is lowering DHT and it has to help somewhat.

^^I agree.0.25 mg EOD is what I am on now and it is doing a fine job and I dont have any sides nor do I worry about them.

male pattern baldness and rich - when you say EOD, i guess you mean ' every other day' right?

it would cost me a lot less to dose your way so id happily go for 0.25mg every oher day (if thats what EOD means)

- but why EOD for such a small dose, wouldnt it be more efficient to take 0.25mg every day?
or can 0.25 prevent DHT for 2 days?

you guys say your doing fine on .25 with regards to sides but have you completely stopped further hair loss/thinning too?


How do you find cutting a 1mg tablet in 1/4? is it hard tro make it accuratre..

Yes EOD is every other day....I think taking 0.25 mg everyday is a good idea but I wanted to start with the minimum dosage possible after I had some mild side effects with 1mg every other day.So far I feel fine and it seems to have helped my hair a great deal.It feels thicker,a lot of tiny hairs have popped up in my temples and the peach fuzz I developed while on MIN has turned terminal.

I just want to be on this dosage for maybe a year or so and increase my dosage to 0.25 ED after that point.

i would much prefer to take .25 EOD, but can .25mg of finasteride stop DHT production for 2 whole days?

as i am guessing it would only last 24 hours max, so would need to take .25 Every day


Has anyone read any studies/articles that say taking .25 blocks DHT for 2days?
or is it widely believed that any dose of finasteride blocks DHT for 2 whole days?

Also aren't you worried on the day you dont take .25 finasteride, the balding/thinning will continue until you take your next dose?

I am just giving my body time to get used to the pill and lucky for me,this dosage itself seems to be working fine.I might start taking 0.25 mg every day after a year or when I notice this dosage not doing its job.I just want to give it more time before making that decision.Like I said,my hair looks a lot better than before.There have been studies claiming that even a small dosage of finasteride like 0.125 can be just as effective as 1 mg.

So if you are a NW3 or if you have just noticed male pattern baldness,this dosage could be really effective especially when you couple it up with a regrowth product.
