i've noticed everybody mentioning at some point that it's easier to treat a diffuse thinning rather than regain completely bald spots(like temples ). i so wish it were so easy...i suffer from a slight diffused thinning myself and i want to know what are my best options at this point. Most people have told me that a hair transplant is not an option for my type of thinning, is that true?

So....what treatments do you think help diffuse thinning best ?

Both Finasteride and Minoxidil treat diffuse thinning.

The difference is that Finasteride is an easy regimen to do every day, and Minoxidil is harder to use because of the liquid topical application it requires.

That being said, my advice is to start with Finasteride and see if it does the trick all on its own. A life long regimen of simply popping a pill would be an awesome way to stave off hairloss. If after a year or so the Finasteride doesn't seem to be doing the trick, or if you are noticing increased thinning, then you can add in minoxidil.
