Balding? Time To Start Finasteride ?

I’m pretty sure I’m just confirming what I don’t want to hear but I’ve noticed my hair is starting to thin on my crown . Although not at my temples . Is it time to start on the meds ? This thinning hair is also only visible under direct light. My hair everywhere else is thick

Hard to tell from those photos. Looks like some thinning on the crown (and maybe some thinning on top). You could try minoxidil on the crown. If the thinning gets worse on top you should go the propecia route.

Cheers. I only noticed it around a year ago.. literally been obsessed ever since although I don’t think it has got much if at all worse? My hair seems to go in different directions at the crown and I wondered if that was causing it

Again this is under direct light. Probably doesn’t look as bad. But as you can see I have quite long hair. Could this also be a factor ?

perfectly normal. Show us hairline pics tho, that is usually where male pattern baldness starts in young people.

Not a dumb question at all. Yeah you can go through you gp to get a referral to a derm. I found a derm in my area that I wanted to go to because he advertised that he treated hairloss. I just emailed my gp explaining that I had been experiencing hairloss and wanted to get it checked out by a derm.

Your hair looks pretty good from the pics, but you know best. Its better to be safe than wait a year and loose a bunch of hair. A derm will be able to tell you if you are thinning and what steps you need to take.

Thanks for your replies. Like I said it’s become a bit of an obsession. I find myself taking picture after picture in different angles . Holding a mirror at different directions ect. My hair is definitely thinner than before . I just hope i can stop it or at least slow it down

Take a pic with your hairline pulled back..
