Hi everyone. Over the past few months I have been struggling seeing my crown thin and I am 22 years old. I am seriously considering Finasteride but am worried about the sexual side effects, infertility and a doctor told me since I am 22 that it could seriously affect my hormones. I was hoping for some advice and any input or other options people recommend? I already started nizoral shampoo. Thanks.

I don’t think finasteride causes infertility, and the possibility of sexual side effects appears to be different for each person. You would have to just experiment with it, and see what happens.

You have to choose. Finasteride is the only thing that works well and reliably long term for most guys, unless you include off label stuff like dutasteride.

Some of us have been on finasteride for many years with no further hairloss and no side effects. But that's never a guarantee for any prescription drug.

After being on finasteride and the forums for about 7 years I would shave if I could no longer take it. Chances of success (no more loss) are quite low without it, IMO you're better off shaving and moving on with your life.

Why do you even think you are balding? Your crown looks perfectly normal.
