Balding and redness on scalp?

Hi,

I've been thinking is there a link between balding, itching and redness on scalp. Within last three months there has been a few days when I had an itching scalp and few other days when I have noticed that my scalp is kind of red.

I've planned to start finasteride today or 2nd of Jan. Today I noticed that my scalp is really red but no itching. Should I prepare to start finasteride right away to minimize dht on my scalp asap.
