if you had to have one.....which would you rather have and why? and don't give me answers like "it doesn't matter because they both end up happening in the end" or "bald spots react better to treatments"

for me, i'd rather have a recceeding hairline because you can still look cool....bald spots are f*****g gay, everyone sees your nice hairline then when you turn around bam, a f*****g bald spot

I would personally prefer a bald spot (crown) to a receeding hairline because a bald spot is easier to conceal with toppik than a receeding hairline. Have you ever tried to use toppik on the front your head? Its really diffcult to conceal. Also when people are talking to you they are looking at your eyes, temples and face and not the back of your head. At the end of the day I would rather have a prince william type hair (not receeding at the front but thinning at the crown) than have a receeding hairline. Unfortunately I've got both a receeding hairline and a bald spot :sobbing:

Yeah same, the hairline frames your face and is more important imo

Bald spot, if styled right it can be hidden. A better question is which is worse? A Receding hairline or diffuse thinning?

If you can conceal it with toppik, it's not really a bald spot, only a thin spot.

I think bald spots are way uglier than receding hairlines, because of the contrast of skin against hair where there should only be hair. With a bald spot you basically have to shave it down or look old.

Easily a receiting hairline. I actually like the look of one, being distinguished. When you flip it up in the front it looks great and I find ladies really dig it. A thinning/bald spot in the back is just a pure game killer. Topix IMO is just rediculas.

Definately a receeding hairline. Reasons

-It can take years before it's noticeable to others and even then they wonder if your forehead was always that high.
-It's generally more accepted as it's far more common
-It's more acceptable to one that a bald spot at a younger age as most males get some recession.
-It actually suits some people.

But with bald spots, the second the hair goes slightly thinner than on the rest of your head it's obvious to everyone. On the other hand though, it appears to be easier to treat with meds than a hairline.

Well it obviously doesn't look 'better'. But it does suit some people very well, especially if they have a 'mature' looking face. e.g. I have a mate, he's actually only 22 but because he looks older anyway and because of his face shape, his receeding hairline suits him just as much as it did before hand.
