Backpacking and removing minoxidil from the regimen

I'm going backpacking later this year for 6 months. Carrying 6 months worth of finasteride won't be an issue, but minoxidil will be.

How catastrophic would it be to remove minoxidil from my regimen? Should I upgrade to dutasteride from finasteride for my travels to 'make up' for minoxidil? I'll be going to Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia etc for reference..

Thanks fellas

It could be pretty catastrophic. If you have a lot of minoxidil dependent hair then you can expect to lose a lot of it. minoxidil bottles are quite small though, if you use 2ml every day then each bottle will last a month so you only need to bring 6.
Dutasteride won't compensate for the loss of finasteride, they work through totally separate mechanisms.

You could easily back pack with liquid minoxidil. Foam would be more bulky.

Tottenham, I strongly do not recommend to stop Minoxidil considering if you know for a fact that the treatment has genuinely been helping your hair. If your hair is on the longer side, if you wish to, maybe have your hair cut very short so less Minoxidil gets stuck in your hair and that way less of the treatment is wasted while backpacking for six months.

This is a good idea! Also, perhaps you can order a couple larger dropper bottles and combine into them, maybe saving some room. I would NOT quit entirely. Even if you have to only apply once a day, I believe that's fine as well. I used minoxidil for like 3 years and then I started once a day. Don't know if it was coincidence, but my hair actually improved over that period of time.

wait a minute! What do you mean by: dutasteride can't hold on to finasteride hairs...
finasteride & dutasteride don't work in the same ways, but at the same time, they do. They keep DHT suppressed.
