Back On Finasteride After A Few Years Without It

Hi this is my first post in this forum. I am thinking to take finasteride again after several years of rest without it. I took it for more than 10 years and it worked quite well (at least keeping my hair). I used to have a lot of dark black, dense hair until one day I found myself had diffuse thinning on the top/crown. I decided to take finasteride, and it pretty much maintained what I had. Then I was planning to have children and because I was worried finasteride would damage my sperm quality so I quit. After a few years off, I somehow think I may be losing hair again. Recently I've asked myself several times if hair is really important to me. The answer is yes. I just got a prescription from my doctor for finasteride... I think I am going this route again...

Hi Hairicane, yes quite much in my opinion. Although not many people around noticed, but I myself knew I lost quite a bit (mostly on the top, I think from NW2.5 to 3.5)

We're you trying to have children while taking finasteride but had no success, then stopped and fathered a child successfully?

I quit because I was worried finasteride would affect my sperms but honestly I wasn’t sure if it would. As having children was our priority, so I just decided to take a rest from taking finasteride. Yes i conceived and I now have a child, but I am not sure if it’s related to the fact I was off from finasteride. I know someone who continued taking it while he conceived successfully and had a healthy child. However, I was just too worried and so I quit taking finasteride while I was trying to have a child.

Probably smart. finasteride basically messes with your male hormones, and who's to say what else it can f-up.
I jumped back on finasteride despite what it does to my "hardness".
I always experiment.
I may this time take testosterone boosters and see what that does.
Luckily I'm in my 50's so I can f&ck around with chemicals and hormones and I'm very aware of every minute change and can adjust as needed.
finasteride helped thicken my diffused hair, but for me it did take months and months.
It also takes months and months to reverse once I get off finasteride.
