I was just wondering and because i couldn't find any information on this. But if you were to take propecia AND avodart, is it possible that if you take both you could almost double you chances of keeping your hair. Like could two of the best treatments combined bring amazing results or is it a really bad idea?

Taking both advodart and propecia? Dang, why didn't anyone think of that earlier? According to my calculations, you should grow exactly twice as much hair with your advanced regimne, or at least double your chances of keeping all your hair. Yes double.

Taking both would be redundant regardless of what the above post states. Since Avodart is already going to lower your DHT more than Propecia, what would the point be of taking both? Your chances of regrowth/maintenance would be the same whether you were taking dutasteride/Propecia or just dutasteride alone.

well you think it would be ok to take the propecia with the dutasteride just to be on the safe side ?[/quote]

It wouldn't hurt anything except your wallet, but what "safe side"? In case Avodart DOESN'T lower your DHT more than finasteride which would be impossible? It truly is unnecessary to take both and you would just be putting more crap in your body for your liver to process.

so beaner im on propecia and its been about 4 months and i really really would like the best chances to stop hairloss. Should i wait until about 14 months and evaluate and then decide if i should stop taking propecia and start on avodart?

That depends on how bad your situation is and what you're expecting the drugs to do. If you simply want to stop your loss, you have an 83% chance of doing that with Propecia. My opinion would be to stay on Propecia for at least a year before making any determination as to the benefit you received from it. I would also recommend you post some pictures if you haven't already, so we can see what you're dealing with.
