Ok so after a year of using finasteride/dutasteride its left me with a very sensitive scalp. and i am almost certain im having some immune response to basically anything that increases blood flow in my scalp, including scalp massages, minoxidl, emu oil ect ect. i have made sure my scalp was fairly exfoliated from DHT with a homemade cleanser that works quite well, but im still experiencing a receding Itch and its usually at its worst after a scalp massage or any hair growth topicals or oils.

From what i have researched your immune system can react to anything close a slight change in nerve pressure and could see it as threatening change and end up creating inflammation in areas of the body.

I'm currently taking quercetin and am on a fairly anti-inflammatory diet but honestly i dunno what to do. :(. if i leave my scalp alone the itch usually fades but any attempt at increasing hair growth just gives me inflammation.

I dunno. i can't even use spironolactone cream without my scalp getting inflamed for a few days.

Haven't noticed if its done anything tbh.

Its possible the problem was dht all along, but i understand why things such as scalp massages and emu oil would upregulate my scalp

But minoxidil always gave me wrist pain, and the only thing i can figure is that it was my immune system reacting to minoxidil and attacking my joints (which apparently it does happen)
