AttisLab is new South Korean start-up company entering the hair loss market with their stem cell and 3D organoid technology.

From their article:

Among the technologies owned by Attis Lab, areas that can be commercialized early are hair loss or wrinkle treatment (skin improvement). Existing hair loss treatments and treatments mainly focus on preventing or delaying hair loss, and hair transplantation, the only treatment, is It has the fundamental disadvantage of causing long-term pain before and after the procedure and causing hair loss after a certain point. However, hair loss treatment using autologous adult hair follicle stem cells is safer than existing treatments in that it uses autologous cells, and has the great advantage of being able to perform the procedure quickly and with less pain. Adult hair follicle stem cells cultured as 3D organoids can preserve organs through a cell storage system and can continuously replenish cells if additional treatment is needed.

“This type of cell therapy can be applied as a treatment method to regenerate skin defects and damage caused by burns, etc. In the regenerative medicine field, like other bio industries, clinical trials can be the biggest challenge from a regulatory perspective. The problem is that the level of regulation varies from country to country, so we plan to first enter the Japanese medical market, which is an advanced country in cell therapy using stem cells and has relatively relaxed regulations. We will provide treatments through a regenerative medicine hospital in Tokyo, and are also in the process of entering the United States, one of the largest hair loss treatment markets. “In our country, regenerative medicine and the legal system were enacted relatively recently, and we expect that the system will be improved soon.”
