Article - "New Hairloss Treatments in the Pipeline" - More BS

http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-...s/news/20140331/hair-loss-treatments-pipeline

"March 31, 2014 -- New hair loss treatments on the not-too-distant horizon may be game-changers."

I didn't even read the article yet and all I can say is - Bull****!

Article should say " New Hair Treatments Many Years Away and Still Won't Do Much To Help Hair Loss"

- - - Updated - - -

Just read the article. Nothing new. Don't waste your time.

Denise Mann's journalistic skills suck balls. All fluff and hopes just to tease hair loss sufferers with more 'on the horizon' crap. Anyone else getting fvcking tired of these articles and 'break throughs' ?

I do not find all this as nonsense. I think that these are incremental improvements and just like there have been incremental ones in hair transplant, similar will now come to male pattern baldness, in general.

Some of these treatments will be available in the coming few years because a) they already have some existing research behind it like the ones with PGD2 and asthma. and b) they are not based on 'all or nothing' approach , like with hair cloning, either it works or it does not but with these medications, it might work to varying extents like with lattise and PGD2 blocker.

What really is infuriating is the price of new experimental chemicals in the market , which have proven to ,say, block dkk1 very well - everything from 100$ for 1 gm to 500$ for 10mg. It is INSANEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. There is so much we can try now, in terms of experimental stuff, but it is SO BLOODY expensive.

Economies of scale. If you want an insanely cheap price on DKK1 suppression, you need a LOT of people buying it. Strength in numbers. Producing the stuff for just 1gm will be expensive.

Some day… some day we'll get something

Better not be when were on our deathbed. I'm 30 now... my 20s werent all that great. My 30s are off to a miserable start. I can't imagine another decade of living a meaningless life. Let's not even think about the rest of our life as socially crippled baldies.

Yeah everyone will be paying 500 a month to use 15 different hair loss treatments to get mediocre results 10+ years from now but we will have to say its better then what we have now right?
