Are you mistaken for being older since hairloss began?

With so many younger people going bald it's surprising to me that people automatically equate hairloss to an older person.

I'm 23.. i started losing at like 22. Up until the last like 6 months to a year i always thought i looked younger than my age and so did other people. Like when i was 21/22 people used to guess that i was 18 19. Now that i'm 23 and i've lost some hair (although not noticeable consciously to the average person) people are starting to guess 23-25.. which isnt a bad thing.. and not a big deal... but it went from "you coulld be 18" too "youre definitely like 24 25" in about a year and a half . I meana of course it makes you older

Take a look at the norwood scale pictures. Its the same face in every little picture, just the hair changes and yet you perceive each degree of the norwood scale as being older. The same face can either look 18 or 45 to you depending on the norwood level

Definitely look older, I'm 24 but my hair cut and style makes a huge difference.

With my large forehead and NW3 hairline, I look frankly ridiculous with long hair (30+). It gives me that academic look.

But when I buzz it shorter, I look 24-25 again, I think it's vitally important for any guy with hairloss to keep their hair groomed and cut to suitable length and shape that suits their face. This alone can take years off your appearance.

Yes thats the case with anybody. If you go beyond a NW3,hair that is even slightly longer, makes you look stupid and older.

I haven't yet. I've kept my hair a bit longer, it's "poofy" hair sort of (it has no weight but I brush it) and I'm kind of a diffuse Norwood 1, trying to keep my temples from becoming NW2 (they're trying, starting minoxidil to keep it from happening :-/)

I hide the hairline pretty well for not having naturally thick hair, I think it's the poofiness/curliness to my hair that helps...it's not going to help much longer if I lose any more of the hairline though.

I'm a NW3v with long hair now, my forehead is also pretty damn big. I've been told a couple of times, always by women, that if I cut my hair shorter I would look younger and more presentable.

I don't care though, and the rest of my hair is in strong shape.

Yes definatly been told by a few woman some have thought im in my late 30s...

and im only 33, NW2-3 easily....

If I however grow my hair long woman do take note of me at work and think im younger like in my mid/late 20s even... I even catch an eye or 2 with longer and more hair also....

Thankyou hair loss :)

Same head shape, and sometimes a goatee..

I have an Norwood 1.5 hairline but diffuse hairloss on the vertex and crown.

It is a receding hairline that can make people look old.

I'm 27 but some people think I'm 24 - 25.
