Are men's stock pieces simply too straight in texture?

I never liked the over-straightness of body wave. I prefer it to my own texture, as mine is too curly when grown out, but I don't feel like it's the most natural looking hair type.

I'd prefer something actually wavy - so I could keep the sides and back fairly short & then have waves on top for realism and better all around coverage. More room for a poor haircut, lost hairs, etc.

Now this isn't the king of cut I'd ever gravitate toward, but I do feel it looks more realistic than mostly anything I've seen on guys online.
