Hi guys,

As mentionned in the title I am approaching the 2 years mark on Propecia and I am still experiencing serious thining.

What could be my option now :

- Add minoxidil ? I've been on Foam during 6 months but as my hair are wavy and long it was hard to apply it and therefore I quit. Maybe should liquid minoxidil a try ?

- Lifestyle change : the subject have been discussed quit often here but inmy situation I am ready to try everything to keep my hair and regain density.

Any input is welcome.

Cheers

if ur 2yrs on finasteride, 6 months on minoxidil, u might just be thinning temporarily from the minoxidil. i say keep using them for another yr, and see wat happens.

Is your front scalp shinny?
Is the thinning at the front and little or no thinning at the back?
Do you work in an office that require concentration or;
seriously concentrated in your academic studies?
Are you taking any medication besides finasteride?
What's your weight and height?
By 'lifestyle change' are you willing to engage difficult measures?

Frontal recession/diffusion is very difficult to battle.

1. Finasteride (Propecia) may not be helping because it's more of a stress related case. You may want to drop it. If you thinking of anti-stress drugs, these will NOT help.

2. Massage you scalp as soon as you wake up from sleep. Shinny scalp indicates sebum may be lodged around the hair follicles.

3. Use Nizoral and Rogaine. In my case, these are optional but I would suggest you use them.

4. Daily exercises, preferably with a bit of sunshine, will help only when combined with 2, 6 and 7. It might aggravate without 6 and 7.

5. This is no assurance but have some coffee or tea while at work at least every two hours - this will help more if you have been a coffee drinker. If you tend to react to these drinks with increased blood pressure, it will most probably help. Drinking it during breakfast will be less beneficial.
Avoid or limit dairy products.

6. Keep yourself animated as often as possible while at work.

7. Rest every thirty minutes or so.

6 and 7 may sound simple but it involves details in timing and using certain muscles and how to rest to counter the effects of male hormones and stress while allowing you to continue working.

It's a system called 'Physiological Countermeasures' which require several pages in a book. You may need a timer until it becomes habitual.

I guarantee it will make your life difficult :) BUT I think it only takes getting used to it. I won't be surprised if your peers might notice you and say: "You look excited today! What's up with you?

Check my regimen - It might interest you in getting the book. Let me know if you have - I've been meaning to work with someone who has it.

What makes the non-balding man different? What factors of lifestyle enable the non-balding man the privelage of not having to perform countermeasures and still keep his locks? What if you had two men....one balding (to any degree you wish) and one not...say they eat the same, have the same jobs....and hobbies...and so on......
Why does one man keep his hair and the other man to looses it?
Appropriate adaptation.

male pattern baldness is the result of wrong adaptation.

I am back on Rogaine Foam, I was so unhappy about what is happening to my hair that's I've decided to give it another try.

My propecia pills cannot be fake as I buy them at the pharmacy and I don't buy any generic pills but Merck's one.

21 months on Propecia...

Ive been on finasteride tabs from inhouse for almost 3 years... if anything its only barely maintained my frontal hair line... in fact a tad worser on the sides.

So it has not helped me in anyway... this is with the big 3 using nizoral/finasteride/rogain

guess its hit or miss
