Applying too much Toppik cause hair loss?

I have been using Toppik hair fibers on my hairline/temples for a good year now.

Sometimes I leave it in for a few days and it clumps. Does anyone think this can cause hair loss? Because I have noticed my hairline thinning out more

Or does anyone believe that some people can be allergic to the chemicals in Toppik causing hair loss?

I doubt it.. But why would you leave it in that long ? Keeping your hair clean is a good thing to do if your suffering male pattern baldness id say.

Are you on finasteride or min?

How would you rate toppik?

I don't know man. I am starting to be more and more cautious about leaving things in my hair. I know it can't contribute to the Androgenetic Alopecia process, but hair and follicle health? perhaps. If that **** is combining with sweat and sebum and some getting absorbed or clogging up your pores over a period of time, it's definitely not good.

No. but if you use hair spray to hold it down, then comb/brush. Causes hair breakage. Happens to me.

Thanks all for the reply. It makes dealing with hair loss a whole lot easier when I can talk to others about their own experiences. It's been a real annoyance for me from 23yo to 26yo now but coming to accept it! What else can you do

Toppik is great! I highly recommend but just remember 'less is more' otherwise it is obvious

Yeah I'm on finasteride have been for ages. Using minoxidil nightly just on the corners of my hairline but defs noticed now all of the hairline is thinning out! Could be one of the following reasons:
1. Started using Folligen with Minoxidil (I have started letting the minoxidil dry first as I think the Folligen application straight after the minoxidil made the minoxidil spread more through my hair) Anyone had a shed with Folligen?
2. Using alot of Toppik on the hairline and washing hair only once or twice a week. I don't like to wash it more because the next day the thin hair is more obvious. I know it's better to always keep it clean but I do hate styling my hair the day after a wash...
3. Changed minoxidil brands a month ago
4. Went through alot of stress and anxiety last year. Keeping this under control now

Also yes I use hairspray but I do not comb or brush, just style with my hands

Perhaps it's a mixture of all of the above, all I can do is start washing my hair out more, and pray it bounces back!
