Application-friendly topicals

Hi everybody. This is my first post but i have been checking this forum for quite a while. Lots of good information. Thank you!
Anyways, here is my question.
I realize the importance of a topical treatment for hair loss. Probably, the topical is the most important part of every regimen. It is the topical in fact that is applied directly onto the affected area, that is the scalp, and that stays there the longest. Now, i have longish hair and hair loss topicals are not easy to apply for me. So far i have tried Crinagen, which comes as a spray, and spironolactone on my temples, which is a cream. Now, they all mess up my hair a little too much 'cause they are either too sticky or greasy.
So is there any alternative that i can look into? Is there like an oil or something that can help stopping hair loss and that i can just appy to hair after i shower and leave in? What about Rogaine foam? Or what about Spectral DNC (not sure if spelled right)?
By the way, as soon as i run out of saw palmetto, i am thinking about adding finpecia (maybe 0.25 mg a day?) on the internals front.

finasteride is definitely the way to go. Forget about saw palmetto!

Rogaine foam is very easy to apply. Non-drip, dries quickly. Some guys don't like the 'product' fragrance or the mousse-like texture and finish it imparts, but it's much better than the liquid version - which I first bought about 2 years ago, and could never bring myself to apply.

If finasteride works, it definitely is easy to use. I use spectral DNC and although it is tough to guage how effective it is, it is definitely easy to use. I use an eye dropper with it. It dries very fast and it hardly leaves a residue if you use a dropper.

Thanks for the replies guys. Hey pondle, does rogaine foam leave your hair too stiff after application??

No, it has the same effect as mousse and leaves your hair kind of light and fluffy. I wouldn't recommend it as a styling product though

The most topical friendly product right now is Rogaine Foam I'd say. It is very easy to apply, dries quickly in minutes, and leaves little if any residue. I've heard Spectral DNC is friendly as well (but it doesnt make much sense to use it with Rogaine Foam out now). The other topicals, from spironolactone Cream to Revivogen, are only friendly if you don't have like diffuse hair loss (if your hair loss is only in a small area).

I've heard of Topical finasteride/dutasteride, but never tried it also. Nizoral and Revita I'd say would be friendly topicals as well.

you know Ive been saying this about the foam ever since it came out, while people were crying about the 'harsh' shaving cream like smell it has. I think the foam will phase out the liquid version as noone will go back IMO.
