Hi everybody, so i'm 1 month and a half on minoxidil, only on the front part and it looks like it's starting to improve, i'm diffuse i think since my hairline hasn't move and i noticed my hairloss by noticing a loss of density all over the top one morning. which i read is the sign of diffuse thinning, but the front part is receding faster than the rest, literally hairs look normal everywhere and in the front it's like thin assholes's hair, (i started before it's seethrough tho) and now it's starting to homogenize all over the top, looks less like thin a**h**'s hair

So i like to think that i'll respond good to minoxidil and that it'll be the good time to start trial on propecia, as if it doesn't work or sides bothers me, i'll stop and stick to minoxidil. i also will start nizoral

I see me doctor friday and i read people talking about making test before starting, but what are those ? and so what do i say to him ?

right now my plan is: "Hello i lose my hair i want to start finasteride, can you help me or i'll have to see a dermatologist"

Thank you and by the way i hate dermatologists

That's what I did i went to the Doctor they gave me 5 mg of finasteride and said cut it into 4ths and take it everday problem is when you get home you can't take it because you read all the bad reviews online you shold ignore it and take it right away

Relax, horror stories are bullshit imo, only a small % of people will get have severe side effects. The more you read, the more you will believe it and that has a huge psychological impact, some of the listed side effects can be made worse because you believe in it.

Just take the pill and relax, 1 year down the line, if you don't think its working for you then make a decision to stop. The drug won't stay in your body forever its not going to be stuck inside you.

Thank you DKC but like i said i'm over it, i will take as soon as i get the precription, my question is more about the test i can do to identify possible other causes, i heard about blood, thyroid, hormone, vitamin and iron deficiency etc... where do i do all that, should i talk about it with my doctor, and why people do that ?

the thing is, my 2 grandfather are norwood 1.5-2, all my uncles go from norwood 0 to 2, exept one that started to lose some on vertex at 60, so did my father, and there's me, 21 and diffuse thinner, so if there's something caused by a deficiency or whatever the f***, i want to do test so i'm sure.

and by the way, one of my grandmother have a real female hairloss, is it posible that i caught it from her ?

Those tests sound about right. If you go to a trichologist you can get a male pattern baldness test which tests miniaturisation of hair follicle from different zones of your head and from that determine if you have miniaturisation or not.
