I really need some advise please. I'm shedding allot of hair and I don't know why. I'm currently on propecia and I cant use minoxidil due to a real bad reaction with the product. I would like to avoid using minoxidil in any combination if I could. My scalp itches like crazy just before I start to lose additional hairs. I need something that's been tried and proven to work. My guess is that its related to inflammation. could you guys recommend something that would treat that problem. I should also mention the hair bulbs are extremely small that's never happened before. Unfortunately my doctor doesn't seem to have any idea. I found this site has far more knowledge with regards to hair loss then any local doctor would. Any advise would help a greatly

Are you using Nizoral? I think everybody on this board will tell you to try Nizoral (You can buy it from your local pharmacy if your from UK, I presume same for US)

You should use it ONCE every THREE TO FOUR DAYS, dont use it everyday because the active ingredient in Nizoral(Ketoconazole) lasts in your scalp for four days when you use it.. Even if you shampoo again.

Try that and you will notice a difference in your scalp after about 4 weeks.

The inflammation is probably due to your hair follicles being sensetive to DHT (The cause of your hair loss)

Hope that helps! If iv said anything wrong, hope another poster will clear me up!

I notice I shed slightly more when I use Nizoral too, must be cause of the harsh ingredients.. Have you tried T-SAL? Or T-GEL? I hear if you rotate these shampoos with Nizoral they can be of benefit too.

I've use both the only reason i like the tricomin is its not as greasy and can applied right after a shower .The folligen will give your scalp a green tint.
