Anyone stabalize hair in parts of the scalp where it itches?

I've been on finasteride for a few months and overall my hair looks better thus far. The problem is, parts of my scalp still itch even though I take finasteride. I was told that the itch is the immune system attacking the follicle. My question is, if there is still itch in a particular area, does that mean you will certainly lose the hair there and not be able to stabalize it? Thanks

No.

After your scalp becomes adapted to it's new environment, (that is, your treatments), and you get your itch under control and create a healthy clean scalp, treatments can allow for maintenance/regrowth in ALL areas.

Thank you very much misterium, that was very informative. So far finasteride has been working very well for me even at the temple area where people say it does not work. I do have an area right in the middle front where it still itches so I was getting concerned.

you could try T/gel (coal tar) shampoo to help control the itch. Nizoral is great for the itch as well.
