Anyone else male pattern baldness hairs look like this?

I've found that many of the hairs I lose have varying thickness throughout the length of the hair.

If I take a single fallen hair and examine it I find that the thickness goes from thick to thin and thick to thin over and over again throughout the length of the hair.

It's like the hair follicule cannot decide whether to miniaturize or keep growing normally.

Anyone else encounter this? What's going on here?

Do a search for tricorrexis nodosa, and, in general, hair shaft defects.

But be aware, those diseases are quite uncommon, especially in white people. They are relationed with the lack of minerals and agressive brushing and grooming.

I did a research on that becouse I haven´t got the usual male pattern baldness,mine shows thinning at sides, upper neck and crown, and my hairline and back is where I got the best hair in my head. Also, looking closely at some of my hairs reveals a brush end in some of them, wich is a sign of that kind of defects.

Anyway, i´m on the big 3 right now, 1 year on minoxidil (little help), month 4 on finasteride (my hair is now quite worse than it was at the baseline, especially at the sides and top, where i haven´t got much loss b4, but now reveals a lot of motherfucking scalp ), week 2 on nizoral. I hope things will get better, as my hair loss is not so agressive and quite slow motion: almost same hair now (25) than when I was 19, but I´ve worrying since I was 21, and I want to fix this stuff right now b4 it gets worse or too late for recover what I´ve lost.

But, please be very careful when you try to find another reasons for your hair loss, maybe you´ll get to conclusions from the panic and "what if" reasoning that is not the most rational way of approaching a problem. The most common cause of hair loss is male pattern baldness, take that in mind and react calmly with the information you find about other diseases.

Personally I´m waiting for the stuff to work on my head. If there is no improvement in 1 year+, I´ll start then researching more about possible causes and trying another treatments. That´s the best advice I can give.

Oh, and as i remember, i read in a medical report about those diseases that they were able to treat it succesfully with a zinc supplement and a medicated shampoo for seb derm, but do me a favour and read everything you find about tricorrexis nodosa and hair shaft defects, there is massive medical information about them over the web, and i´m not a doctor at all.
