I still don't know if I am actually losing hair or not, but I very well could be. I will not be using finasteride or minoxidil, don't like any of the reported negative side effects. I can live being bald. I would consider a hair transplant if it got bad enough (though probably not because its so ridiculous and expensive and leaves a stupid looking scar). But bald really isn't even that bad. It would just take getting used to since I'm used to looking attractive with hair.

But I would like to attempt to keep my hair or at least slow down the hair loss significantly. I'm thinking of starting ketoconazole shampoo (Regenepure) as a preventative measure. Before anyone chimes in with the "it won't work, only finasteride and minoxidil work", I'd like to hear if anybody here has tried the shampoo only, with NOTHING else, for an extended time (years). If so, what happened?

Thanks.

P.S. I would also consider buying a laser comb to use. I'd like to know if anyone here has had success with one of these and NOTHING else for an extended time (years)

If you in any way think you are balding you would have to at minimum get on finasteride or another anti-androgen medicine. nizoral alone wont save you. nizoral and minoxidil wont save you. Laser wont save you. You will not be able to get a hair transplant if you arent on finasteride ect. either. Doctors require 2 years on finasteride ect. before they will give you one almost always.

There aren't any studies that prove Nizoral reduces DHT. SOME people claim that it stopped further hair loss from just using Nizoral. I don't know if it is B.S., but you can be the one that decides that. I'm just providing the idea.

Some people don't get further hair loss until they reach 50, it's all a guessing game but there's no guessing that Nizoral shampoo is totally worthless in fighting hair loss.

Im using nizoral and minoxidil. I used finasteride but it gave me REALLY bad sides so I had to quit.

I know people say you cant get a hair transplant without finasteride but I have to try. What about the 2% of us who "cant" use finasteride? Am I supposed to just say "f" it. A hair transplant is all I have left.

Unless this new hair replication technique announced comes out FAST and works Im screwed and can just hope for a quick surprise death.

Im using nizoral and minoxidil.
You'd need to use the nizoral (or any ket) creme for greater effectiveness. So you buy ket creme and mix it 1:1 with minoxidil; only make a small batch at a time (i.e. 5g + 5ml); apply 2ml once a day just like minoxidil and leave it all in.
I know people say you cant get a hair transplant without finasteride but I have to try.
You do not need to be honest; just pretend you are using finasteride. The Doctor will not verify your dht levels, will he?

docs wont care if you take finasteride or not, its not a rule just recommended. They will advise you to try it, I did, and it damn near screwed me up bad so I cant toy with it.

I've been using nizoral since I was 16, way before I started losing my hair. And I still ended up thinning. Nizoral does not prevent hairloss, listen to Agahi

It's better than nothing, but as most people have mentioned it won't prevent your hair from falling out. It could delay it though.

You most as well use it though right? Whats to lose if you can't use finasteride anyway? I use a keto shampoo, atleast it makes my hair feel good. I use minoxidil also.
