Any tips on how to avoid (rude) comments from barbers if you are thinning?

Okay, so I'm 20 next month. No one has ever told me it looks like I'm thinning. But my brother (18 months older) has just started getting visible signs of male pattern baldness. A surprise given that although my dad, 65, has lost a lot (but not all) of his hair on the top, on my mother's side they all have great heads of hair.

But since my brother's hairloss, I've damned myself to either balding quickly or being paranoid about balding until it happens. One of the things I dread now is haircuts. I have never had a barber tell me that I'm thinning but I've been told by a lot of people that this is how they find out.

Is there any way of avoiding this happening? Like, if I go to different barbers each time, are they less likely to see a difference in your hair and therefore less likely to comment? I think it's a bit rude and futile of a barber to comment to be honest. But if I'm gonna find out I'm thinning, I'd rather not find out while getting my hair cut in a public place.

If they comment, just take it out on their tip.

yea how rude of them to let you know

no one and I mean no one told me until my hair was so bad you could see it 100 feet away

My loss occurred only at my crown until my crown got pretty bad. I literally jumped out of my seat when the barber took a mirror to the back of my head and I realized there was something very wrong

Suck it up boo hoo will they hurt your feelings if they make 1 quick helpful comment?

If a barber was nice enough or anyone to point out my balding to me I could have started treatments earlier and my loss would not even be noticeable. They are doing a service to people by telling them they are losing their hair, especially to people who are not concerned with hairloss or familiar with the early signs.
