Any side effects to Nizoral?

I walked into Boots earlier today looking for some dandruff shampoo because my scalp has been flaking a bit. Dandruff is not a good look for a man with a buzzcut. As I looked through the shelf low and behold there it was. Nizoral shampoo for £5.99.

Not only will I get rid of the dandruff, but it might do something for my hair loss as well. Are there any side effects to using it?

The most common would be scalp dryness; but that´s kinda expected from a shampoo that reduces sebum. Increased shedding is also reported, but this is presumably a good sign, indicating the conversion of telogen hairs into anagen (kinda like the initial shed on minoxidil).

Systemic side effects are absent in topical use; although there have been case reports. Ketoconazole is a potent anti- androgen when taken orally, and produce the kind of side effects you would expect from any anti androgen..
