Hey guys has anyone tried dutasteride and if so is it upto all the hype? Stop hairloss imediately or is it same ol same old story? Crap? Cheers lads for any help

It's hard to say, but the potential for good results is very real, as it inhibits both types of AR whereas finasteride only inhibits one of the types. Personally, Dutasteride was just one great big shed and left me considerably worse than before I began. Thats just my experience though, some have had good results but its a gamble. Either it will work well for you, or cause you a great shed and loss.

Im about to start finasteride 1mg, but Im convinced Dutasteride 0.5mg would do a much better job at stopping hair loss and promoting regrowth. I might go as far to say Dutasteride could be almost descibed as a cure. Of course Im basing this purley on scienific reasoning as no drug companies are currently trialing Dutasteride for male pattern baldness. The company behind the drug Avodart began trials, but pulled out. Although they would not make their reasons public Im convinced it was due to sides. Dutasteride is FAR more powerful drug than Proscar and remember Proscar is 5 times more powerful than propecia. I personaly wont touch Dutasteride, at least not for a few years. Ill let some of the peeps on hear be my guinea pigs, and see how there get on!
