It all started in 2016. Before then my hair was fine, no abnormal shedding, great growth etc. In 2016, I was going through some stuff and wasn't eating much from June to Dec which made me lose weight. I didnt experience hair shedding at all that year but around May of the following year (2017) I started shedding a significantly larger amount of hair but really only thick hairs. The hair pull test got me like 20 odd hairs a pull. I continued to shed weight all through out 2017 as well. I was at my lowest weight Dec 2017. This shedding has continued to this day and I cannot solve it. The pattern of shedding is from the crown to the hair line, right down the middle. I can pretty much see my scalp only if my hair is wet but not as much when my hair is dry. I also was shedding right above and behind my ears and at the nape of my neck. I have suffered my whole life with seb derm but it got worse around 2018 when it spread from just my scalp to my chest and nose etc. I realized that there is a connection between the shedding and the seb derm, as the itchiest parts shed the most like behind my ears and front of hair line and crown and other specific spots on my scalp. I got a blood test done in Jan 2019 and found out I was seriously low in Zinc and Vitamin D. After I started taking supplements in these, my face and chest cleared up so i thought YES! i figured it out! now my hair should return. I have been taking Zinc from Feb uptil now. My face and chest has no seb derm and my scalp doesnt really itch anymore but i still have seb derm flakes on my scalp and I am still shedding. Also, male pattern baldness runs in my family as my dad started losing his hair around his 30s. Both my brothers are older than me and still have yet to lose hair. They are in much better shape than me. I am 25 btw. Any ideas guys? Please don't break my heart by telling me it's male pattern baldness
