Hi everyone,

I was hoping that you could provide me with some guidance.

To make a long story short:
- 30 years old
- Have always had thick and dense hair
- Mid 2017, experienced a severely traumatic event and hair began thinning within three to four months
- Thinning appeared to be getting better, but another severely traumatic incident happened in July 2018 and now situation is worse
- frequently feel tenderness on top of head where thinning is occurring
- as a result of constant severe fatigue, body pain and high blood pressure, had full thyroid panel, as well as blood tests for celiac disease, lupus, sjorgens and a few others, all of which came back as negative or normal
- get 8 hours of sleep per night but never wake up refreshed (EVER)
- doing a sleep study soon for sleep apnea

Started using nizoral 2% to deal with some dandruff issues, and also because I am afraid to commit to anything else (and head and shoulders seems to be making my hair fall out).

Please help? Is there any value in seeing a dermatologist?

Photos are attached. I am sitting under a bright light, but typically people do not notice my thinning in most lit settings.

Usually hair lost from a traumatic experience will be fully regrown.

It could be that additionally stress has accelerated your male pattern baldness around your crown. Best shot is to see a professional to check for miniaturization of hairs. If you don't have male pattern baldness, then they can recommend the best way to regrow your hair.

Aside from this, I think your hair still looks very thick, with a good hairline.

Your words are encouraging and give me some hope.

I will be making an appointment with my dermatologist. Not sure how long it will take to see her, but if it takes too long, would you recommend any treatment regimen in the meantime? Supplements, rogaine etc?
