anti androgen and shedding

I understand that minoxidil causes sheds as it stimulates hairs.. I dont understand though how an antiandrogen (finasteride, spironolactone) causes hair to shed when it is just protecting the follicles from DHT. If anyone knows the answer to this then I would be very appreciative.

Good question, I wonder why people don't choose to offer their knowledge? Seems a lot of threads go unanswered even though there good questions and answers are not available in the FAQ. Good luck dude, I'm gonna start on proscar soon along with minoxidil 5%. Have you had any success?

Hey man... I have had some success with Xandrox15 on my temples.. . I have lots of little black hairs sprouting there but they are very slow to grow... Xandrox15 is the only thing that has grown anything on my head and even this regrowth is not visible to anyone except myself when I look really close in the mirror... I just added topical spironolactone 5% to my hairline once a day hoping that it will help stop any further recession and help protect the new hair I am growing. How about you Johnny Cash?
