I shedded for about 3-4 weeks and I think it is finished...My hair is starting to look a little fuller now (I THINK). Is it good for a shed once or twice a year?? I assume it is but I would like some input.. BTW I have been on minoxidil 2% for a year now and its doing OK I think..some input please???

I am only doing minoxidil..I bought finasteride but I am too scared to go through a shed and it not work...also the side effects could be awful so I am a little bit of a pu**y....but I do take hair vitamins that I think help.

minoxidil will have an initial shed for the 1st 3-4 weeks. Dude... you are waaay to worried about propecia to not try it. The side effects are rare, and even if you do get them, you can stop propecia and they will go away. Also, if you get them, they usually go away after a period of a couple weeks.. they did for me. Half the people shed on propecia and half don't. Sheds are a good thing on propecia anyway, because 99% of the time the hair grows back thicker and fuller. Good luck!

also, depending on how bad your hairloss is, your might want to try 5% minoxidil. 2% is for women and guys who don't have a lot of loss to begin with.

Don't fret on all the negative hype and people here saying blah blah blah about the side effects. More than not are having a worthwhile exerience. I have not experienced and libido issues or sheds etc... to date from finasteride. Get on it and see what happens. If you are unsatisfied and see no results or experience any side effects, well, just get off the drug. finasteride is the best thing that happened to me in the last year.
