hey guys, just got a haircut, man those are trying times, especially since my hair was starting to look to my liking and i was scared to alter anything. of course, I was wondering how things will turn out, will thinning be massively evident, or will it show just how well treatments have been treating me. I got it done at my mom's friend's house (she's a hair stylist) and of course she wants me to wet my hair (ahh!) then i have to sit in a chair under bright lights whilst she moves my hair in everywhich way cutting it, as my mom and her look on to see how it looks. very tough to sit through. at first, i was sure things looked worse. but i came home, washed my hair with some thicker, fuller hair shampoo. once it dried and i was able to style it some, holy sh*t! things are really looking good. it was about 2.5 inches before, and i'd say its at about an inch now. seriously, when i have it up and have a little american crew fiber in it, it looks like there is no thinning at all (unless of course i go up to the brutallist of lights and go up super super close), then you can see some. but man, what a relief. then i went in the brightest bathroom we have, and took a second mirror to look at the crown, certain it would bring my elation to despair. but it looked full as sh*t, just that usual cowlick that i have was the only scalp visible. whew. just wanted to share this with you guys to put a positive spin on things here. i had some rough days from month 6 to early 7, certain i was going downhill. but now things are turning around, guess these treatments do take time, hell, i've even got some new little hairs sprouting in front of my hairline. wait it out guys, stick firmly to the regimens. I'm scared to say that things are doing well, because everytime i do, i feel like i take a step back later, but as of now i'm quite happy with my results so far. i hope months 8-12 bring me even more good luck. cheers.

congrats man. keep it up. i also think you should go to a man barber. i used to go to a hair stylist, dresser, whatever. then i read in GQ about how they recomend a male barber from a real barbershop. they said how they know what the deal is with thinning and mens styles and all that, and how its just an all around experience. with the warm shaving cream for your neck and ive been going to them for a few years now and think its the place for a man to get his hair cut. give it a try. and dont worry about what a older woman and your mom think. peace.

Problem with male pattern baldness is that it makes me get a haircut way more often than I used to. Looks okay short but can't let it grow for much over a month without looking kind of sh*t.

Glad to here that things are working. It's always difficult going for a hair cut....

Eeeesh! I totally relate with what you shared! Now, even though my previous barber would rave about how well my hairloss treatment program was going, I'd still be hyper-sensitive about my hair:( But, now after getting a haircut I guess, due to the affect of the treatment, I'm not as conscious. Congrats though on enjoying some of the rewards for your patience with treating your challenge:)
