Hi guys,

in need of a bit of help/advice here.

I've just come back off holiday in a hot climate, and noticed my scalp got burnt.. I've never really paid attention to my crown before (forgot to bring a hat on holiday), and upon examining it, i think it looks thin on top.

My mum is adamant it's always been like that, since i was a child. She believes i've always had a strong cowslick and it's just the natural parting of my hair. I'm inclined to believe her, i've never noticed any hair falling out, but, at the same time, i could easily have missed it if it was thinning out.

I've just turned 21 - my dad was completely bald by 25, but his parents/grandparents and my mums parents/grandparents all had full heads of hair when they died..

I've got no hairline recession or anything else like that.. Been the same since i was 15.

Thanks for the help guys,

Alex

To be honest you have uploaded very different pictures: some with a harsh light, some with a favorable light. It is difficult to say. It would seem like in some pictures the vertex is a bit thin. But, hen again, maybe it is the light that is too bright.

If I were you I would pay a visit to my derm because the situation is really borderline and it is difficult to say from these pictures. The derm, by choosing the correct light, and maybe trying out a trychogram, will be able to say what is going on with the crown.
If the derm says you are really thinning, you will however start very young to treat it so your chances of success are very high.
