American Crew Copper Peptide Question

Ok, well this is my inaugural question, and while I wish it were a better one, everyone has to get started somewhere.

In regards to the American Crew Copper Peptide containing line of products (Revitalize), I've read about people using a spray, while I use a serum. I was just wondering if they were one and the same?

Also, I use the American Crew Revitalize line which include shampoo, conditioner, and a serum. Is the only one of these that actually prevents hairloss the serum? or do the shampoo and conditioner as well?

Thanks for the help.

They are not exactly the same. The serum is a more concentrated version of the copper peptide complex which you can use mainly on the very very thin areas and / or the hairline where you need it the most. The spray is still pretty concentrated though, I just think that the serum has a little more.

The spray is more for using it on your entire head to prevent inflammation / irritation caused by the use of other topicals or dryness in general.

The spray and the serum are the two really "active" products, while the shampoo and conditioner are just a nice bonus but probably not necessary. I don't think you can really consider them as a hair loss prevention by themselves though. The majority of copper peptide benefits come from anti-inflammation and they have been proven to regrow hair, not really prevent hair loss.

They definitely help though.

I believe the serum was designed to be applied to completely bald areas whereas the spray is designed for the entire scalp, whether or not it has hair covering it. The serum has a stronger concentration of copper peptides. The shampoo and conditioner are excellent to use alongside either the spray or the serum. When using the "45 day starter kit" which contains shampoo, conditioner and spray, the AC revitalise system is a very economical addition to add to any regeime. I use it and think its great.

Britannia,

I see that we have similar regimens. I was wondering what kind of results you have noticed so far with yours? so that I might know what to expect. Also, perhaps your age and past and current norwood level.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

My biggest regret is not taking photos before I started treatment. Well anyway I started my regeime nearly 3 months ago. I would say Im a Norwood 2 approaching the Norwood 3 point. So far I have had vellus hairs regrow on the temples (only small area - about the same size of a coin) and a halt in recession of hairline. Oddly I have had 2 significant sheds from the vertex, but I did expect this and the hair lost should regrow. So no cosmetic results yet, but no deteriation either. Its only 3 months into treatment, I will give it the full 12 months before I decide whether or not to change anything. The only sides Ive had is acne.

I've heard lots of confusing and mixed things about copper peptides. Are they just good as a soothing agent, or do they have growth properties? I thought I read somewhere that they are as effective as 2% minoxidil.

Also, who here has used AC revitalize and serum and been happy with it? I love the way the serum makes my hair look personally. But i'd rather have physical improvement than aesthetic improvement.

where can you buy AC in the U.S. other than online.

I've looked for it at places that sell other AC products, but I never see it.

very rarely you will find ac revitalize in common salons. be prepared to spend a fortune on shipping for hairloss products.

I don't know if you are aware but both the serum and the spray contain alcohol, which can damage your scalp- i believe it's like the second or third ingredient in both. I would reccomend folligen who has both a topical cream and spray, neither contain alcohol. best of luck- hope this helps.

Alcohol will not damage your scalp. It is a carrier for the copper peptides to be delivered into the follicle. It may cause some irritation if applied too frequently though.

bryan mentioned a study a little while back in which one group was treated with a simple alcohol and one with a placebo topical. he said the alcohol topical had improvement while the placebo had none. so maybe the alcohol is helping rather than harming?

Neither the alcohol in the serum or spray will harm your scalp. American Crew are probably the most respected male hair care brand in the world. Questioning what they use in their products is like showing Mike Tyson how to punch people.

We should always question everything-

that's what Socrates did.... Wait, he was punished. Nevermind.

ummm- of course you should question stuff. big shocker here- but some companies do lie and make false claims. everyone is different of course- but tons and tons of so called respected companies make products with ingredients that should not even come in contact with your skin. for example- up until a few years ago a company that claims to be an authority on skin care was using acetone in their facial toners, which is one of the main ingredients in nail polish remover. believe what you wanna believe- i was just suggesting an alternative and trying to be helpful.

just got my revitalize two days ago. and i can't believe i resisted getting it for so long. knocked out my itch and irritation completely. hopefully, it will keep up the good work.

one question though, how much and how often do you guys use it? i'm doing 3-5 sprays in the morning. If i get an itchy sensation later in the day, i'll spray it a few times to knock it out. is there such thing as overdosing?
