My god looks as thick as can be. Seriously envious of that hair transformation.

Thoughts anyone?

Also evil locks if you see this thread, you should probably try oral anti-androgens and estrogen creams since you are a woman and dont face the risks of side effects like me.

androgens, androgens, androgens. Women dont grow facial hair and they dont go bald unless exposed to high levels of androgens. Androgens are your enemy atleast as far as hair is concerned.

I've seen a few stories from south east Asian dudes on oral spironolacetone who've made amazing hair recoveries. I won't lie, I wouldn't totally rule it out, even if it does result in gyno. Just get the surgery and live with it. You can still have kids, as transexual men married to women have done in the past.

makes life painful IMO, I have used it before and just fro 3 days, but those 3 days were like hell and I was seriously depressed. I think men need testosterone to be healthy

you can't have kids long term though. i am trans (btw in this case they would be trans women not trans men, trans men refers to people designated female at birth who then transition into male) and after only ~4 months on estradiol ~5 months spironolactone i'm basically sterile. i havent had my stuff checked or anything, but (im about to get super personal, i apologize if you dont wanna hear this) when i ejaculate nothing comes out so i doubt i am fertile right now.

right. sometimes stuff comes out but its like 2-3 drops of completely clear liquid (prostate fluid probably? no/very little sperm)

the real question is how are you getting erections in the first place. I was on spironolactone for like 3 days and I swear I could barely get an erection.

Also do you think there is a type of estrogen that could be applied to the scalp that would absorb, but only in the scalp and not have systemic effects.

idk honestly. i'm sure my T is very very low because it was low before I even started HRT (around 320 ng/dL, with the average male level being 680 ng/dL - by comparison women's levels are usually around 15-70 ng/dL). for the first couple months i was dysfunctional in the sense that i had no sex drive whatsoever, but i could still get and maintain an erection with ease and i did so every couple of weeks. trans girls can usually maintain a functional erection if they do it every once in a while (think of it as "use it or lose it", because if you dont use it it will atrophy). my sex drive has now recovered and i find myself having zero issue performing, but things are 'different' now for sure lmao.

as for you, 3 days on spironolactone is not long enough to cause a serious drop in testosterone. in fact usually for the first little while, there is a spike in testosterone before it starts dipping. it takes months for people like me to get our T fully suppressed, so 3 days on spironolactone is like literally nothing in the grand scheme of things. if i start psyching myself out about whether or not i will be able to get an erection/perform, my erection/performance suffers. this was true even pre-hormones. (tl;dr version - i doubt its the spironolactone. worry less, if that doesnt help talk to your doctor lol)

idk anything about topical estrogen but if i had to speculate based on my limited knowledge of how all this works, i suspect it would not work as well as you're hoping and it has a pretty high chance of going systemic. i think the main enemy is androgens (both dht AND t, i think that T's role in male pattern baldness is severely underestimated!), which estrogen doesnt necessarily combat (which is why I have to take antiandrogens in combination with my estrogen). I've also heard of some trans girls using creams as part of their hrt (but oral pills/injections are the preferred method) so obviously it must go systemic if its being used for that purpose. not sure how/if testosterone may relate to this, but they make creams for that too and it definitely goes systemic. source: my trans guy friend uses something called androgel (i think?), but he's moving to injections soon as they usually offer better results.

Thanks I too believe that T is very underestimated when it comes to hairloss. I was wondering to you only use spironolactone or have you tried drugs like cyperatone acetate as well.

Reason I ask is because I am looking for a way to kill the testosterone that goes to my scalp since only blocking DHT is not effective for me and I have continued to lose hair on dutasteride for like 8 months now.

Also i dont remeber what my T levels are exactly but I remeber my doctor telling that I was in the 95%+ range which means I have extremely high T, so it is really effecting my hairloss. Obviously I dont want to take drugs that lower T orally but i was hoping on using them topically. Any recommendations?

no ive never used cyproterone acetate. i think cypro is generally accepted to be more effective, but it's harsher on your liver. it's not really used here in the US AFAIK.

as for topical AAs the only one i know of that is topical spironolactone. some people have had pretty good results using it. i guess there's also ketoconazole, but that's pretty weak.
