I'm generally nervous about my temples and how they are sparse. Always had some widows peaks as a child with a cowlick on the right side. I can't find any photos on the internet that resembles mine so I'm very unsure what's happening to the hairline. Any opinions would be nice, thanks!

I think you are yes, you are diffuse thinner by the looks of it, just behind your hairline, bang in the middle you are thinning, and that carries onto the temples, which is a classic diffuse thinning pattern characterised by those areas I mentioned starting to thin, then a 'island' being created at the front of your head.

Your head shape is pretty good so you really suit a buzz cut look.

I would suggest you go to a doctor and talk about medication options, because it looks like your hair loss is quite recent, if you seek treatment, you may have a chance to recover some of what you have lost.

From the last picture, I'm not sure if its the lighting but it seems to me that you have a thinning NW4.

I'm going to have to completely disagree with the defuse thinning part and thinning anywhere on the middle of my head. I've had my family inspect my head and they told me that there's absolutely no thinning anywhere in the middle of my head. They said that the density in those areas are all exactly the same and also completely normal. I have thin hair, and from the side profiles you can see the angles that the hair on my head points at, which is directly at the camera for why you'd think that. That's why I've named "top view" and "crown view" as two separate photos although they almost give the same representation of my head.

I'm here to mostly talk mostly about the temples, but from that you say that is still representative of male pattern baldness. So I guess it's the same either or

Lol, okay no problem. Hopefully your family are right then, but the pictures you provided are the evidence that I'm looking at that make it pretty clear that you are diffusing. I've made a mark up for your top view which highlights the area of diffusing and comparing this to a standard diffuse pattern, thats what it looks like you have.

Again, going to see a doctor/dermatologist is your best bet. Family are normally in denial about these types of things.

You have very coarse hair, so your density is likely naturally lower than someone with finer hair. That's why you can see through it so easily. The areas in the middle where the other guy marked are where your hair is pointing straight up at the camera. You can tell because the hair density appears to change depending on the angle of the camera. This gives the illusion of diffuse thinning.

The area behind the hairline looks thin here because it is angled at the camera. But then we look at this picture.

The front area from before looks much denser and the crown area looks thin. Lighting and having your hair cut short will f*** with your pictures. You have no diffuse thinning.

Your hairline density looks a little splotchy at the temples, but I'm not sure it's anything to seriously worry about.

Hard to say, but it looks thinning to me. I'm thinning and receding at the same time, so i'm fucked either way, but it's good that you're only thinning. Check Minoxidil and Propecia (If you're over 18) and Nizoral, but before you check any of those treatments you need to take a visit to a good dermatologist because thinning is not indicator of male pattern baldness you could be thinning because of stress or poor diet or bad mental health.

Thanks guys! I'll still keep an eye out for my temples and give everyone an update if anything changes with them. Like you said it's splotchy at distance patches, and it's something I've never came across on the internet. I've only seen completely receded or thinning just at the hairline. Who knows, maybe this is my way of slowly receding, albeit slowly. Hopefully that'll help the next guy who has the same pattern, and maybe they can catch it earlier than I will if this is really indicative of slow receding.

Will keep buzzing my hair a little while longer though. Recently donated my hair - grew it past my shoulders. This now is so low maintenance - don't even dry my hair out of the shower! I'll probably buzz my hair for the rest of my life if I ever end up receding to be completely honest.

Am going to go to the dermatologist this week to maybe get a hair density test/professional opinion.
