I have used minoxidil for over 20 years and it has stopped working. I read on the site about dermarolling and it sounded logical so I thought I would try it. For the last 3 weeks I have dermarolled every other day with a 1.0 dermaroller and then I apply minoxidil. For the last week the whites of my eyes have been terribly bloodshot and below my eyes are puffy and red and pimple like sores. Im pretty sure its from dermarolling. I never had effects like this from just using minoxidil for 20 years. Is this a common side effect. It kind of scares me what I may be doing to my vital organs. I only have one kidney the way it is. Any comments would be appreciated.

Puffy eyes or dark circles typically a side effect from minoxidil you could experience, not uncommon in this forum.
However the way you put it about 1 kidney and being scared, you should rather go seek for medical opinion immediately from a doctor about it first.
Do you take anything else that may have caused these problems?

Curious to know, how has your hair loss progressed from being on it for 20 years?

1) did it work for 20 yrs?

2) I don’t get what you mean by poisoning yourself. Minoxidil is not poison. It’s a blood pressure medicine. If anything, you’re just experiencing side effects.

Equate minoxidil from Walmart for 20 years has helped me from severe hair loss. This last year tho it seems to have stopped working for me and my hair is thinning rapidly. I want to try propecia but from what I have read it also kind of scares me.

you are not supposed to roll that frequently. that minoxidil is also being heavily absorbed into your bloodstream.

You can try to step back from dermarolling to often. Take it down a notch. Maybe try dermarolling once a week.
