Am I overthinking the difference between brand and generic finasteride? Which works?

I finally decided to get on finasteride but now I'm stuck thinking there must be a difference between for example Propecia and Finpecia. I wanted to ask the people in the "Success Stories" section what brand they were using when they saw success on finasteride, but there's no reasonable way to ask all of them so I'm hoping to get some insight with this thread. The reason I think it's important is because I've read several stories of people switching between brand and generic and losing their results. So I feel that I have to stick to a single type of pill once I get on it.

Please respond to this poll just to give some feedback on this issue if you have seen some success, and by success I mean you were either able to regrow or maintain your hair (if you use either propecia/proscar or finpecia/fincar):

I have used a Brazilian generic (Medley) for 10+ yrs. Great results. Never used propecia.

AFAIK it's the same thing. Same chemical.

The difference is money. If you have a lot of money to waste it probably doesn matter either way then

I use MINT-Finasteride 5mg

Mint pharmaceuticals.

I get a 500 day supply. 120 pills for less then 15.00 CAD. I just pay dispenser fee, insurance covers rest. Proscar is dirt cheap anyway
