I'm sure there are 100's of posts like this, apologies if it's in the wrong section.

I've been getting comments about thin hair for years - not sure if I'm just being paranoid but definitely noticing my temples thinning recently. Age 27. What do you think?

Diffuse thinning all over. Temples are definitely receding.

its not bad at all. I can't tell if you are thinning all over or not, you could just have thin hair however ur hair looks great tbh. I had a friend with long hair just like yours, same colour and everything and I was positive around the age of 18/19 he was thinning out. He is now 27 and recently got a haircut and is still a perfect norwood 1 with zero hairloss. Point is, it can be hard to differentiate between naturally thin hair and diffuse thinning in cases like yours.

In regards to your temples, yes they are slightly thinning at the corners but to be honest your hair and hairline as it stands right now is fantastic. The first thing you need to worry about is diffuse thinning. Shave your head and examine it closely, if you are diffusing than it is simple, you will need finasteride or else you will be bald in the future. If you are not diffusing, you are left with very minor thinning at the temples. This happens to the vast majority of caucasian men and is a far cry from actual baldness. That is where you will need to choose, finasteride to prevent any recession as best as possible or just carry on normally.

My hair is almost identical, but dark brown. I've always had fine hair but my temples were starting to thin noticeable like that about 2 years ago, I started finasteride almost a year ago and I noticed my temple hair growing thicker, I also started using a hair lotion with minoxidil 2% every night and it also helped a bit. My temples are still thinner than rest of my hair but I'm sured it has slowed down.
