Am I balding?

Hi everyone!
I recently noticed that the hair around my crown has started thinning (I think so). I am almost 32 years old but had never paid attention to it. I usually walk around with really low hair length - 0.6mm.

I am attaching three pics. The first one is me with 1month, 1month and a half of hair.

The second and third pics are right now. Hair length is around 1 cm.

Thanks!

I am sorry for providing the link like that. Couldn't attach the pictures the normal way.

Not bad at all for 32. I would start treatment and hopefully fix this small amount of thinning

Thanks for the reply. What treatment would you recommend? Is Rogaine recommended in this case? I am new to all of this.

Rogaine and finasteride are the best treatments for this type of hair loss. Rogaine helps thicken and grow hair. Finasteride/propecia helps prevent balding by blocking dht. The latter has a very small chance of affecting your libido/sexual function for full disclosure. Rare though and you can always adjust the dosage. You can choose to use rogaine exclusively and may react well to it. But a few things you should consider:

It’s tedious when you do it day in and day out.
It doesn’t work well for everyone. Worth a try though.

And if you don’t use finasteride or a dht blocker, eventually the positive growth from minoxidil will be outpaced by your natural balding. Since you’re non aggressively thinning, it may be that minoxidil is enough at least for a few years. But that’s up to you

Thanks for the reply! I think I will give Rogaine(minoxidil) a try. Should I consult a doctor first or it is fairly safe?

It’s safe. You can get it OTC. It has a half life of 22 hrs or something like that so you can technically use it once a day. But for best results you apply it twice a day. Make sure to wash your hands and forehead if you use it, because you don’t want to grow thicker hair on your face or hands. It can cause an initial shed, but that regrows stronger hair. Results can take a few months to fully show

Very mild recesson, but the diffusing on top and in the vertex is concerning. Selb gave good advice. Also, consider microneedling too.
