Diffuse thinning starting from the crown. Research finasteride and see if it's for you. That's the only thing that really helps.

You are balding diffusely and you have already lost quite a lot.

I have always had very thin blonde hair. It is curly also which can leave some parts of my scalp exposed. My hairline is fine, it is just that when my hair is wet it looks thin because it clumps. I do not think it is male pattern baldness but diffuse hair loss maybe. I am only 20. Opinions? Pointers?

Also last late winter I stopped taking a steroid for my back that triggered my hair loss and I am wondering if it the loss will stop/regrow.

Its like diffuse thinning and I heard about some natural remedies for it.

Natural remedies?
f*** natural remedies, that sh*t doesn't work. Take finasteride and there is a good chance your crown area will thicken up in an year. I don't remember the exact numbers from a study but I believe around 60% experience thickening of their hair and more than 80% stop losing their hair and maintain on finasteride. You will just be wasting time with natural remedies.

So, your hair may grow back or it may get worse. Nobody here can tell you for sure and nobody can tell you for sure to use Finasteride (even though there are some people that only reply to these threads telling people to take that).

With natural therapies you have to do a lot of research and you have to be prepared to stick with them like any other treatment and also be prepared they will not work and you will use further ground. While Finasteride is fine, it is a pill you are supposed to take forever and stopping tends to cause sudden death to the hair however which is why if there is an alternative for you, it is worth exploring if you can afford it (hair wise).

You can always start on a grown stimulant route for now-minoxidil, rosemary/peppermint oil, scalp massage. And orally take either Curcumin+Resveratrol and/or Saw Palmetto+Pumpkin seed oil and then reevaluate in 3 months. If your hair is worse then you can always introduce low dose Finasteride. Just be aware if Minoxidil is going to work it will make your hair thinner at first (shed).

Compare all this with just simply taking one finasteride pill everyday, and these aren't even likely to work.
OP if you want to save your hair, start taking finasteride. Start from a low dose at 0.25mg ED, bump it up to 0.5mg later and u can even stay on 0.5 if it's working for you. Don't go through the trouble of wasting time and money on natural crap that doesn't have any scientific studies to back them up and stick to treatments that are proven.

It is more work than taking a pill (or quarter of a pill), you are correct. To say there are no scientific studies is incorrect. It also would feel better to be reassured you are using something FDA approved, meaning there is strong evidence for it vs something that has just a couple of studies.

It is everyones decision. There is nothing wrong with putting the work in to see if you can help yourself without Finasteride and then if you decide you can't, to jump on it.
