Altering Hairline

My hair in front is thinning (I'm 31) but the top is very thick. I was wondering, if removing the thin hair in the front (only about an inch) would make it look better (I keep it all very short) and if doing this would cause the 'new' hairline to begin receding sooner then if I had left it alone or will it will follow the same rate and stop where it would have naturally?

Thanks

Cutting and shaving hair doesn't affect when it will begin to be affectd by male pattern baldness

I'd imagine it only affects the area treated.
