Never realized, but I’ve apparently had thinning on my right temple for a long time.

Here I am today.

No receding on my left temple or crown. I guess I’m probably too late on the finasteride train to get any regrowth, and probably not maintenance either in the long run, seeing as I’m 5 years late. Been on for 3 months, no minoxidil yet.

Is it possible this isn’t male pattern baldness since my left temple hasn’t been harmed and is instead alopecia areata?

When you say it’s not male pattern baldness, do you mean more so that it looks like a maturing hairline?

Yes it's just maturing, at least this is my opinion but if you really want to be sure you can ask for a specialized opinion from as specialist as i said it already...
