I have been using Rogaine liquid for about three months along with finasteride and Nizoral shampoo. There was an initial shedding phase for about a month. I've actually noticed 1" long hairs growing in all the bald spots at my temples, hairline, and crown. So my results have been positive until this week.
Winter has started in my part of the world. The air is colder and dryer. My scalp has been moderately itchy and dry and flaky. There are red bumps on it. I've also developed a small rash on my upper eyelids and I've noticed a bit of a rash starting along my hairline and forehead and my nose is red and dry. I realized that this may be due to the Rogaine. So I stopped using it today and I took Zyrtec to help with the allergic reaction.
Should I stop using it forever? Isn't it odd that I've been fine for 3 months? Should I try the foam maybe once the rash has cleared up? I've read in various hair loss forums that the foam doesn't contain propylene glycol which may be the culprit. I just want to keep the positive results going.
I'm 32 and my hairloss has gotten gradually worse over the years. I figured now is the time to try treating it...before it all falls out.
Any advice from your own personal experience is appreciated. Thank you!
