i drink nearly everyday due to my job, (and being an idiot!) i work in hospitality for a large IT company, ive taken finasteride for 6.5 months. would drinking have any affect on the finasteride working? obviously i know the drinking isnt good and i am going to cut down a lot, but what about it altering the effect on the finasteride working?

I've heard that alcohol increases the aromatase activity (conversion of testosterone to estrogen), which means that you're at a higher risk of experiencing side effects if it's true.

Yup.

Actually alot of people "crash" after a night of drinking. Estrogen dominance is believed to be one of the reason for finasteride sides.

I've personally experienced this after drinking.

I mean give it a shot but watch out....

I believe the main reason is DHT deficiency, but it's elevated estrogen level which causes the severe side effects. There is no doubt about it.

There is nothing wrong with drinking excessively while taking finasteride, at least regarding it's effectiveness. Finasteride is going to bind to 5-alpha reductase whether there's alcohol in your system or not.

There is nothing wrong with drinking excessively while taking finasteride, at least regarding it's effectiveness. Finasteride is going to bind to 5-alpha reductase whether there's alcohol in your system or not.

Thanks. His question was about alcohol reducing finasteride's effectiveness. You and every other retard in this thread failed to answer the one question that he asked about. Instead, you went off on some tangent about alcohol and aromatase... which he did not ask about. That is why I felt it was necessary to post.

Its never gave me any side problems...drink or no drink! I have watery jizz and i shed on month 4 of propecia, i thought i had ED once when i drilled it into my head that it causes it, load of bollox all in your head,and if its not reach for the Cialis!!!!
