Aggressive Diffuse Thinning At 19 Y/o.

I'm 19 y/o and started to notice some shedding six weeks ago. This has got progressively worse to the point where you can now see my scalp.

Is it possible for this to happen in such a short period of time? I'm considering jumping on finasteride but I'm worried that with how aggressive my thinning has been it may not be male pattern baldness, meaning that finasteride won't help. Thoughts? Thanks.

Looks like male pattern baldness to me but could be a variety of things. I would schedule an appointment with a dermatologist, specializing in hair issues, to address your situation. If it is male pattern baldness, then finasteride is your best option.

It's exactly like my diffuse thinning, finasteride and minoxidil helped me recover alot of density. We diffuse thinners usually respond well to treatments, talk to your doctor to find out if its really male pattern baldness ( 99% it is ) after that get on treatments asap. Good luck !
