After surgery then what?

I'm 36 and I've had some hair loss for the past 10 years. I've been able to keep it from getting worse with rogaine. However it's finally reached a point that really bothers me so I'm considering replacement surgery. My questions is what kind of meds will the doctor recommend for long term use after surgery? I would like to avoid those with any chance of sexual side effects.

My guess he would recommend propecia or proscar about 6 months before surgery to see if you would get some regrowth and maintain and thicken up the hair you already have and check for side effects and then if it worked for you after the hair transplant to use it long term to help keep the hair around the transplant.

most docs will advise you to take finasteride before the procedure to prevent shockloss and the to remain on to preserve your existing hair, side effects really are pretty rare.
