Hey everyone, I'm a longtime lurker and firsttime poster. I'm 22 and a diffuse thinner, with maybe a dime-sized bald spot on the back of my head (but my hairline and temples are in good shape). Right now my regimine consists of finasteride, minoxidil, Tricomin Shampoo, and an assortment of hair vitamins. Do you guys think I should try out Avodart before I consider a hair transplant? I'm worried about the shedding and nonresults that I've heard from people that have used Avodart, but the data that backs the drug up simply seems too good to ignore.

Any advice? Go for the hair transplant? Stick to what I'm doing now? Go for the dutasteride?

Avodart is junk. You're on finasteride and Min, two thirds of the 'big three'. Use Nizoral shampoo 1/3 days and you will be on the most common treatment here. These alone are enough, if they work. How long have you been on treatments?

Only go to Avodart if you are SURE that finasteride isn't working well enough for you. I've been on it for almost 2 months now with no problems as of yet. It's still too early to tell if it's doing me any good though. I'll let yah know. Give propecia a good 10 months to a year before judging.

Err. For some reason I was thinking Avacore. Avodart isn't junk at all. Still I'd use finasteride instead if it works for you. Give finasteride at least a year, and if you're having no luck, then consider Avodart.
