advice on starting proscar

I just got my order of proscar from united 1.5 months after ordering apparently there where shipping problems so i notified customer care and they resent my order. anyways ive been on rogaine for 7.5 months and shedding has decrease but im not sure if ive recieved any significate regrowth. I started losing my hair 1.5 years ago by a stressful incident which triggered my hairloss and about 4 months ago the stess died down and then shortly after the shedding started to decrease. Im afraid to take the proscar incase somthing irreversable happens like continuous shedding or accelerated hairloss. Ive read alot of negitive stories of proscar and i dont want to contribute to that statistic. I need encouragement please.

My question is asssuming i dont have male pattern baldness will taking proscar have any negative effects (and im not talking about the common sides like decrease in libido)?

please answer these 2 questions:
1.) I understand that if you start rogaine u shed because it pushes your hair prematurely into telogen. I already went through this. Y do ppl shed through finasteride isnt it suppose to prevent dht from entering the hair follicle?
2.) If one is taking finasteride and dosnt have male pattern baldness is it harmful to the body?

finasteride decreases the amount of DHT, and in order for the hairs to grow significantly thicker, they may need to shed.

2.) If one is taking finasteride and dosnt have male pattern baldness is it harmful to the body?

No. Unless you're a pregnant woman.
