Aclaris and jak has been discussed everywhere previously and we have all seen dramatic results on AA patients. Talk was that this would be tested for Androgenetic Alopecia and fast tracked into phase 2

Wanted to draw people's attention to recent hair care conference, speaker for Aclaris confirmed Q1 2018 testing. Experienced commenters on hairloss cure2020(nasa and royaume) were getting very excited on this as, if it works like it very well could, it could show dramatic results and could be put on for an even quicker commercial release.

Wanted to get opinions of knowledgable people on this forum
Thanks
John

It's funny. You'd think that a consensus about potential drugs would've been reached across all the different hair loss forum/blogs. But depending on which you're on, the opinion varies. JAK is probably the best example of that. It's herald as the cure on HLC2020, yet most people here don't think it will work at all. I don't have an opinion, but I guess we'll see!

Hah that is unusual, guess it shows how little we still know about the process as a whole. At the end of the day, as long as one of the upcoming treatments works, I don' think any of us will give a flying(follicle)about which one it is lol

I'e been dealing with hair loss since I was 16/17, if I could have a solution by the time I'm 21 or 22 that would be amazing - we're lucky to live in this age imo; I'd be easily slick by 30 without treatments like my dad

Is jak the most promising upcoming treatment in your opinion?

So just to be on the same page, they already made a phase I for Androgenetic Alopecia?

I too think they have a card up their sleeve, just which card is it.

I wonder if the reason they have withheld any real info is because they have still recently been aquiring rights to different types of jaks meds. If other companies know that this works then they would be competeing for rights, driving acquisition costs up. Maybe once everything is secure they will start letting info slip.
Just speculation.
I have no opinion if this will work for Androgenetic Alopecia, just a hunch based of Christianos vague interview over a year ago and how quickly Aclaris has been moving. Well see

Everyone who still thinks that jaks have no effect on Androgenetic Alopecia is just stupid as f***.

Use your brain, even if it is really small.

Its f*****g obvious that it works on Androgenetic Alopecia.
Dont ask the dumb questions over and over again. Ask HOW well it works.
Like minoxidil on steroids? Does it thicken existing hair?
Will it give you a fkxing full head of thick shiny hair?

Especially that guy disappeared at the right moment. He was the one who constantly repeat the same sh*t that jaks do nothing for Androgenetic Alopecia. Its impossible, it will never work.

Be optimistic. Whatever it is, ybe sure that its better than minoxidil and finasteride. The hairy Christiano knew the truth. Dr.Brett King clearly said that the effects or results on Androgenetic Alopecia are hopeful.... then he said BEYOND hopeful.

Activate your brain celly. 2018 will be the year.

Hey guys I'm going to be trying to get into this clinical trial actually. Im hoping its at one of the research facilities by me. For their AA trials they picked the research facility I went to last time to try and get setipiprant but my hairloss wasn't severe enough. Considering they are doing an open label trial I will for sure know that I'm getting the actual treatment as well. So when it comes time to recruiting I will let you guys know

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I found a video with a little blurb about the role JAK inhibitors may hold for treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia.

In Christiano's interview with tbt in December 2015, she said jakinibs jump started hair growth in mice, human skin xenografted on the backs of mice, and in a few, I think 12, AA patients taking the oral form of the drug. She went on to say that the topical form worked much better for growing hair in mice than systemically, which was a total surprise for them. Serendipitous discovery is how she described it. But human skin is different than in mice, she said. Human skin is thicker and has a layer of fat. She said they will have to design a topical formula to penetrate and carry the drug to the depth of hair follicles required, and which will allow the drug to remain there for longer than a few minutes at a time. And she and Colin jahoda did some work with culturing DP spheres with the drug used in the mice experiments. She said it will take some expertise to design such a formula. I'm guessing Aclaris scientists are designing the formula now for use in the first human Androgenetic Alopecia trials testing with topical Jakinibs,

Aclaris has secured a number of patents for various jakinibs. Interesting is their patent granted in Japan. Phase II clinical trials in Japan, by what we know, could lead to market approval if safety continues to hold up, and if efficacy is shown. Keep in mind that 80 or 90% of new drugs approved by the FDA in the last two or three years were tested in offshore clinical trials.
