about to start proscar

First time poster, a little about me, Im 30y/o I got hair but its thinning. I recently had a blood test to see where my testosterone levels are and they were at 370. Since I lift weights a lot I would consider that to be low.

My questionis this, I recently got some proscar and cut it into 4ths and I took it for a week.
I was worried about gyno the whole time, and it may have been my imagination but I think I noticed something like a tingle in my nips, but not to the touch. It was just an inner thing. This was after 4 days on it.
I stopped over the weekend and all is ok.
Could I have been feeling side effectst that soon? Will they subside later?

Can I take one of the 4ths every other day and still be covered? Or Do I need to divide the 4ths up even smaller maybe take the pill and cut it into 6ths?
I read that finasteride may make my test levels increase.
Will it stay increased? Will it effect other hormones?

Hi there,

I can't imagine that it would affect your chest after one week. The only side affect that I noticed was my penis seemed a little less sensative than normal but this has now gone. To get Gyno I would imagine that you would need to take it for some time to get these affects. Splitting the pills into 1/4 is ok but you do need to take them each day.

Have you look at http://www.propecia.com This site will tell you all you need to know about side affects. After all it only affects 2% of users so you have to real unlucky to get any side affects.

Feeling tired is not a side affect of Proscar. I feel tired too but that because I have stayed up late the last few weeks so that will cause problems.

Don't panic and just keep taking it until you really see some problems. Stop starting all the time will not do you any good at all.

Wow I must really be in the 2% cause I was on it Tue- Fri last week, (thought I felt tingle in the tits) then I skipped the weekend, then I started back midday Monday, on tues I felt something happening in the right breast, and I ejaculated last night and it was watery as hell, what a site!
I am also less horny, the desire is lower.
Should I stop?

This is starting to scare me some. Im not kidding.

you know why this is happening? its cause you keep thinkign about it!!!!!! look at you trying to find problems. take it and forget about it.....most side effects are all mental....if you think it..it will happen....this happens to all drugs(illegal ones too) if you have a bad state of mind then its going to suck. so stop thinking about it take it forget about it go on with your life check your hair 6 months down the road and be happy.

If you are busting to take a piss and then ejaculate then it will be watery. When I took Proscar mine was watery for a week or so. That's normal. Who cares anyway, you are only going to pump this stuff into some bird anyway

those claims of 2% only getting side effects sounds like a ton of BS if you ask me. I've read this site quite a bit, and there's a way disproportionate amount of people saying they've had side effects compared to those who haven't. Granted, most have felt the effects went away eventually, but not even 98% of those.
