Just got my dutasteride .5mg from the pharmacy. I am already taking finasteride 1mg daily, and have been taking it for 3 years with no success. I was planning on taking the duta every other day. Should I drop finasteride immediately when starting dutasteride, or should I continue taking the finasteride as well.

IMO run them together. Someone posted a thread a while back regarding something finasteride blocked (DHT wise) which dutasteride did not. dutasteride is generally considered a stronger version of finasteride, but this proves they both have unique benefits.
Don't plan on continuing finasteride. Has been essentially useless for my hair. I also would rather not take both drugs at the same time, so I want to see what dutasteride is able to do alone.

I dropped finasteride cold after a year..took dutasteride every day for a week then every other day..is working fine..good luck
